Airport Ground Staff : Initial Training


The ‘Airport Ground Staff’ training programmes offered by the ESMA are acknowledged by an ESMA certificate widely recognised by air transport professionals.

 

 

The employment rate amongst ESMA students at the end of their airport ground staff training is 85% within the 6 months following the course.

All of the training programmes listed below are available at our centres in both Montpellier and Paris Val d’Europe (with the exception of Ramp Agent, which is only available at the Paris centre).

 

Commercial Tourism Agent (ACT)

 


Roles taught: Commercial Tourism Agent and Travel Agent
Programme: Amadeus Air-Rail-Hotels-Cars, sales techniques, domestic and international ticketing, role-play …
Duration: 6 weeks at the centre and 3 weeks practical work placement with a company.

 




Passenger Handling Agent (AEA)


Role taught: Passenger Handling Agent (airport commercial agent)
Programme: Air transport regulations, check-in and transit procedures, luggage complaints, training for AMADEUS and GAETAN software…
Duration: 5 weeks at the centre and 3 weeks practical work placement with a company.

 

Flight Dispatcher (TPV)


Roles taught:
Air Operations Agent/Traffic Agent
Programme: Air transport regulations, meteorology, air traffic, loading, centre of mass and balance, use of flight-planning software …
Duration: 12 weeks at the centre and 3 weeks practical work placement with a company.

 

Airport Ground Staff Specialist Technician (TSMA)

 

Roles taught: Passenger Handling Agent/Traffic Agent

Programme: Air transport regulations, check-in and transit procedures, training for AMADEUS and GAETAN software, air ticketing techniques, meteorology, air traffic and navigation, airport infrastructure, aircraft loading and balance …
Duration: 10 weeks at the centre and 3 weeks practical work experience with a company.

 



Operations Technical Agent (ICAO standard)


Role taught: Air Operations Agent
Programme: Meteorology, aircraft systems, air traffic, air navigation, air transport regulations, centres of mass and balance, flight preparation, practical exercises in an Airbus A320 and with flight panning and aircraft performance software.
Duration: 6 weeks at the centre and 3 weeks practical work experience with a company.

 

Ramp Agent (Aircraft Assistant)


Role taught: Ramp Agent
Programme (only available at Paris Val d’Europe): Regulations, manoeuvring area safety, aircraft handling, aircraft gates, stowage and loading, push-back …
Duration: 2 weeks (theory and practical)
